Conscience Point National Wildlife Refuge dominates the harbor’s west side. A 20-ton boulder at the point itself bears a plaque commemorating the 1640 landing. There also is the former one-room schoolhouse, later enlarged, that serves as the home of the North Sea Community Association, formed in 1931, and the nearby fire department.
